On behalf of the Deacons of RHBC, Welcome!
We want to help you feel a part of our church family. One of the ways we accomplish this is to let you know how we can serve you. We seek to serve you through the Deacon Team Ministry program. This is how the program works...we want to know when you need help with something. We have teams of Deacons in place to help meet your need. Call the church office (344-7888) if you need assistance.

Celebration Ministry Team
Focus: People who have experienced something for which we can join in celebration and thanksgiving. Recognize birthdays, wedding anniversaries, baptisms, graduations, staff anniversaries, bulletin boards, etc.
Message: "We rejoice with you!"
Spiritual Gifts: administration, encouragement, helps, hospitality

Homebound Ministry Team
Focus: People confined to their homes, whether they make their homes in private dwellings, retirement communities or nursing centers. This is a ministry of contact by personal visitation, phone calls, or writing.
Message: "You are important in our lives."
Spiritual Gifts: Administration, encouragement, healing, intercession, mercy

Hospital Visitation Ministry Team
Focus: People who are hospitalized. This is a ministry of visitation for those in the hospital for short or long term stays.
Message: "You are not alone or forgotten in this time of crisis and healing."

Bereavement Ministry Team
Focus: People affected by the death of a loved one. This is a ministry of visitation to the home, funeral home, funeral service, as well as providing some care items in this time of need (coffee pot, paper supplies, notebook, etc.)
Message: "You are not alone in the shadow of your loss. We walk with you."

New Member Ministry Team
Focus: People who have recently chosen RHBC as their church home.
Message: "Welcome! Come in and let's get acquainted."

Prayer Ministry Team
Focus: People whose personal needs call out for intercessory prayer. This is a ministry of sending prayer cards from the church and personal notes of encouragement.
Message: "Today I spoke with God about your need."

Visitor Outreach Ministry Team
Focus: People new to the community served by the church. The primary focus is to follow-up on people who have visited our church.
Message: "We care about people. Come, let us care for you. RHBC is a 'place to belong...a place to become.'"

Small Jobs Ministry Team
Focus: People who need God's hands and feet (and occasionally His back too) applied to their lives in a tangible way.
Message: "Please, let us help you with that."

Transportation Ministry Team
Focus: People who cannot provide their own transportation to and from our services and special events, including those needing assistance getting elsewhere (doctor, pay bills, grocery store, etc.)
Message: "Having you be a part of our church life is very important to us. Let us help get you here and other places important in your life."

Deacons Ministry Offering Team
Focus: People whose lives are under financial stress. This team operates confidentially to counsel and aid those suffering through financial hardships.
Message: "Let us help you through these difficult financial times."
Spiritual Gifts: administration, discernment, encouragement, giving, helps, mercy, wisdom

Staff Support Ministry Team
Focus: People serving as full or part time staff members and their family members. This is a pro-active and re-active ministry of providing encouragement, empowerment and support.
Message: "We care and appreciate you."
Spiritual Gifts: administration, encouragement, helps, faith, creative communication

Casserole Ministry Team
Focus: People affected by a time of crisis and/or upheaval of their normal schedule. This is a ministry of providing food for those dealing with other issues in their lives. Food is provided in several ways and delivered (home cooked, purchased, gift certificate, money donated)
Message: "Let us provide your meals while you are dealing with crisis in your life."

| Deacon Team Ministry Plan |
Goal: To create a structure which encourages those called to be Deacons of RHBC to "kick up dust" in the service of people who make RHBC their church home, their families and friends.
Strategy: To create small inspired and focused Deacon Ministry Teams to effectively address some of the specific human and spiritual needs that are a part of the lives of RHBC's staff, members, friends and visitors. These teams are encouraged to solicit members of the church to help in the implementation of this ministry.
