Stocks Exchange
As you know, I am not often left speechless! However, these past few weeks and especially our Sunday of celebration have rendered me somewhat speechless. There are not works adequate enough to articulate my gratitude for you. To say I was overwhelmed by your monetary gift and words of celebration is a vast understatement. The best gift of all was eating lunch with 350 of my closest friends!
A flood of emotions and thoughts run rampant in my heart and mind as I write this last Stocks Exchange. I want to close this part of our journey by saying THANK YOU: for your forgiveness and grace exhibited in word and deed, for your sacrificial giving to God’s mission for this church, for your bravery and trust as you have become “missional” in nature, for your steadfast belief in being free and faithful Baptist’s, for allowing me to share life with you, for your laughter and smiles along the way, for embracing me in my humanity, for helping to grow my family and my faith, for loving me through mistakes I made, for being wonderful people to lead, love, and serve with.
My final word to you: Rosalind Hills Baptist Church; you truly are A PLACE TO BELONG AND A PLACE TO BECOME.

God Bless You, Tom Stocks

Commissioned to Go and Serve
This past Sunday we commissioned Tom Stocks to go and serve. During the service the concept of Hearing the Call, Preparing to serve and then being Obedient to the calling of God was explored. We as Christians are all called to go and serve. We each have a calling and we must be obedient to what God has called us to do. Rosalind Hills Baptist Church has work to do. God is preparing a servant even now to be our new pastor, however, as we wait for that person to be revealed to us we must be obedient to our calling.
We will have the opportunity to hear more about the Intentional Interim process soon as we invite an expert to share that information with us. That process will help us continue to understand who we are as a church and as the people of God. The process will also help us prepare ourselves for the coming of a new pastor.
We have declared ourselves, “A Place to Belong, A Place to Become, Becoming a welcoming community, sharing the presence of Christ wherever we are.”  We now have a responsibility to step up and be that church.  Last Wednesday night we voted to move the CBF Missional grant monies from the former Apartment Ministry to our Food Pantry Ministry.  Now we must begin the process of finding persons who feel called to serve on a Steering Team for this ministry.  There will be many opportunities to serve with our Food Pantry.  Even now a group of women from the Women’s Ministry Leadership team are taking time when the Food Pantry is open to be present and pray with those who come through the doors.  Rosalind Hills Baptist Church, You are commissioned to “be the presence of Christ wherever we are” Go and Serve!

Blessings,
Bekah

Youth.net

Wow, what a celebration this past Sunday. RHBC you did it right for a pastor that has served this church and this community for over 18 years. I truly believe that our love for him was displayed and I want to say thank you for setting such a great example. The children and youth of our church needed to see a time of rejoicing and celebration for a man that has given so very much. As I stood on the stage with him, I could feel the love from our church, a love that said we thank you, but also said we know God is calling you for a different ministry now. I know it is not up to us to say that we approve, but it was like the whole church was saying “we approve.” We are losing a great servant and for that we are sad, but we know others are getting a great servant that will help them become a church like Rosalind Hills. Thank you to all that celebrated. Thank you Tom Stocks for your servant attitude and for helping RHBC learn to be “a place to belong… and a place to become.” We love you and will miss you dearly.
